Lithia Springs Lions Baseball Materials Donation
|
The best way to describe the facilities for the Lithia Springs
Lions Baseball Program is simply, amazing. The coaches,
players, and booster club members spend countless hours
on and off the diamond making sure the field has just the right
amount of dirt, rock, and paint to make the facilities the best
they can be.
One of the most important aspects of adding dirt to the field
or putting gravel on the warning track is having to come up
with the materials. We pride ourselves on being a totally self
sufficient program, able to purchase the basic items that
keep the everyday function of the program.
One of the downfalls of being a self sufficient program is we
receive little to no support from the school board. We must
raise our own money and pay our own bills. This, sometimes,
leaves little money left over to purchase the materials needed
to repair and replace vital parts of our field.
Our program must rely on the generous donations of
materials from companies and people like yourself. In this
day and age, it is becoming more difficult to find the man
power able to raise the money needed for these projects.
Some of the projects include placing gravel on the warning
track, placing drainage pipe in the outfield, and placing gravel
on the ground around the stands for our visitors and fans.
We are also in need of sand to fill in the spots in our field the
need to be raised in order for our Bermuda grass to grow
level. This also includes top dressing our infield baselines.
